Who will be doing the photography?  I will always be your Primary Photographer. I will also be accompanied by my Photo Assistant/Second Shooter {for additional coverage}. I also have personally selected two very talented Associate Photographers, whom you can book separately {for smaller budget celebrations}.

How do you conduct yourself at weddings? What is your approach?  I try to be as unobtrusive as possible at weddings. I keep my interaction with the Bride and Groom to a minimum. The only time I usually give directions is during the formal portraits.

What do you wear?  I will certainly wear an attire appropriate to the style of your event – black tie, formal, backyard, picnic or semi-casual – whatever you require. I will mainly attempt to blend-in with the rest of your guests.

Will you help us plan a Timeline? Yes! All clients received access to a Personal Client Planning Website to enter event specifics – and I’ll assist you in creating the perfect Timeline and Portrait List – to ensure that we capture everything.

What time will you arrive? I will arrive 30-minutes prior to the scheduled photography start time, per our contract {typically when the Bride is finishing her final preparations}.

What photography gear and accessories will you bring?  I will bring my primary camera {a professional DSLR Canon EOS 5D Mark ii}, a variety of professional series lenses, a speed flash {both On- and Off-Camera flashes}, tripod, and compact flash memory cards. I will also bring a back-up of each critical piece of equipment: back-up camera, lenses, flash and memory cards.

How long will formal portraits take?  Depending on how many persons in your Wedding Party, I typically like to allow for approximately 30-45 minutes for the formal portraits.

Can my friends take pictures of us while you do?  While we are doing formal portraits, I prefer it if your friends and family refrain from shooting their own snapshots. When we are shooting portraits of just the two of you, you will feel less self conscious if we step away from your wedding party, and take some time to shoot in a more secluded, quiet area. Often this will be the only time during the day the two of you spend alone, and I want you to enjoy every second of it. It can be somewhat distracting when all your friends and family pull out their point and shoot cameras, so I usually just ask that you mention to everyone beforehand that you’d prefer it if they didn’t.

I will make sure I get lots of amazing photographs, and you’ll definitely be able to share them with all your friends and family, so there’s really no need for them to have their cameras out at this time. Of course, during the ceremony and reception, it doesn’t bother me at all if people have their cameras out!

How soon will our photos be ready?  We will publish some of our very favorite photos to the Blog within 1 week of your event!  Then, all of your images will be available on your Online Photo Gallery approximately 2-3 weeks after the Wedding {for Guests/Friends to view and download!}.

When do we receive the DVD?  I will send you a DVD with the High Resolution images {watermark free} within 4 weeks.

How will the guests access the photos?  At the wedding, Guests can sign-up with me to receive a direct Link to the Online Image Gallery via email. You can also share the Gallery Link/images on Facebook, etc.

Do we “own” our images?  I give each of my Clients Full Photographer’s Permission to Print and Share their images as they see fit, for personal use.

RAW or JPEG? How many megapixels? RAW. I shoot every wedding in RAW. Any photographer who tells you they can get the highest quality photos possible with JPEG is fibbing. The cameras I use produce files that are 21 megapixel in size {up to 5,000 pixels wide}.

How do you insure that our images don’t get destroyed when your computer crashes? I immediately make 4 copies of all your images within 24 hours of your event. One on a gold DVD in a fireproof safe, one on a working computer, one on a 2 terabyte  drive designated for editing, and one on a 10 terabyte storage Drobo system, dedicated as back-up. Within a few months of your wedding, I make a 5th copy of all the finished files to a hard drive and store that in a fireproof safe for a minimum of 3 years.

Again, please feel free to contact me directly at any time if you have additional questions. Also, do view “Hello There Lovers – How to Select a Wedding Photographer”.
